A quiet September continues as the dog days of the summer off-season drag on. (*SIGH*) Of course the staff here at Hoop-Ball has not taken a break and has been hard at work putting together the best draft guide out there. For those that haven’t checked it out yet, now is the time! With a recap of Sunday’s headlines, here’s Monday’s daily dish.
Rumours from Cleveland seem to think that Mario Chalmers might be an option as back-up point guard for the Cavs this year. With Kyrie Irving and Kay Felder as the only options right now on the current roster, it makes perfect sense. Mo Williams has been hinting at retirement and with LeBron having won a championship with Super Mario in the past, it seems likely that this rumour may have some legs to it. Chalmers could have some deep league value if there were any injuries to the Cleveland back-court.
Transitioning to Utah, it seems that point guard George Hill is likely to walk as a free agent next year. Hill was brought to Utah to help mentor young point guard Dante Exum. Despite the starting title however, owners should temper their expectations as his value will likely take a hit with more back-court options in Utah.
Lastly, the carousel in Miami continued with news on Sunday coming that Chris Bosh and the Heat are now working together to have him return to the court. Although nothing has been solidified, Barry Jackson from the Miami Herald stated that there was growing optimism that Chris Bosh would play this season. We’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out. In the meantime, Bosh will be a risky fantasy player to target on draft night with so much uncertainty surrounding his health.
