• Another great and surprising week of basketball is in the books, so now is a better time than ever to take you through, The Wire. The criteria to be considered for The Wire is to be owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! Leagues.

    Point Guards

Ish Smith (47% owned) – Reggie Jackson is coming back tonight so we will have a better idea of how this shakes out soon. For now, Ish is playing great basketball by averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 boards and 8.0 assists over the past week. There is no guarantee that Jackson will stay healthy. Ish will still have value with Jackson back.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Sergio Rodriguez (28% owned) – It doesn’t look like Jerryd Bayless can stay on the court this season. If it’s not one injury it’s another. All this has done is make Rodriguez start to heat up. He’s shooting at a high clip, making more treys, swiping steals and making shots from downtown. He had a good week and his ownership rate should be higher. Add him in 12-team leagues.

Reommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Jameer Nelson (14% owned) – It’s been a while since Jameer Nelson had the hearts of the fantasy community, but he’s officially back. The Nuggets are better when Nelson is on the court and it wouldn’t make sense to see Mudiay playing 30+ MPG again until he learns to get his teammates involved. Nelson has a defined role and is taking advantage of it. He should be owned in 12-teamers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Patty Mills (38% owned) – Mills has stayed hot for the past two weeks and will the rest that Pop continues to give Tony Parker, it is time to take Mills seriously in 12-team leagues. He’s efficient and he’s going to knockdown a couple of treys and dish out assists.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Andrew Harrison (35% owned) – With the news about Mike Conley going down for a while, Harrison has stepped up to take the point guard duties. That doesn’t make Harrison an automatic add because he struggles with his FG% and FT%. That said, the opportunity makes him worthy of owning in deeper leagues.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

    Shooting Guards

Tyler Johnson (44% owned) – The Heat are struggling to form a lineup these days and Tyler Johnson has benefitted. He has been very reliable in rebounds and assists this season, but his ranking fluctuates based on his shooting. This past week he wasn’t hitting shots, however, when he does, he’s a top-75 player. Go grab Tyler Johnson in case someone let him go while he was cold.

Reommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Seth Curry (26% owned) – The injury and lack of production from downtown has caused his ranking to not be as high as we projected. We’re doubling down on him being productive with 30 minutes a night. Give him a look if you need PTS, 3PT and FT%.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Evan Turner (40% owned) – We have been saying it all along, but when Turner starts knocking down his shots, he’s a solid fantasy option. He shot 48.2% from the field this past week and ended up ranked in the top-60 in 9-cat leagues. He’s special because he grabs boards and a ton of assists. Give him a look in 12-teamers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Courtney Lee (39% owned) – There are some concerns with Lee’s ankle, but it seems like he is just day-to-day. He provides solid 3&D numbers every game and averaged two treys and one steal last week which included the game that he left after nine minutes. You can bank on Lee if you need some steals and treys with good efficiency numbers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Joe Harris (1% owned) – Harris isn’t incredibly special, but he did play more than Bojan Bogdanovic in the incredible game against the Clippers this past week. He offers a similar skill set to Bojan, so it will be interesting to see which player the Nets go with as the season goes on. He’s worth a look in deeper leagues and is someone who we suggest adding to the watch list.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

    Small Forwards

Andre Roberson (13% owned) – Roberson is criminally under appreciated by fantasy owners. He is usually good for a couple of treys, steals and blocks with solid efficiency numbers. He is ranked in the top-30 over the past week and should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

P.J. Tucker (11% owned) – With T.J. Warren out indefinitely, Tucker has taken it upon himself to be the top-60 fantasy asset that Warren was to start the season. He has been averaging 15.6 points, 2.0 triples, 6.0 boards and 1.6 dimes with great efficiency numbers over the past couple of games. He needs to be owned in 12-team leagues while Warren is out.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Josh Richardson (38% owned) – Fantasy owners may be getting tired of holding on to him and could be letting him go. If so, we think you should scoop him up in 12-teamers. He has shown flashes of having Jae Crower-like games. He is injured right now, but the wrist injury is not supposed to keep him out for too long. Grab him if he’s on your wire.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Matt Barnes (22% owned) – We have been playing this song and dance frequently this season with Barnes. One week he’s fantasy gold and the other he’s a dud. The value comes and goes as his shot does. When he’s not hitting, he can still provide boards, assists and steals. He’s worth owning in deep leagues and worth owning when he’s hot in 12-teamers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

Glenn Robinson III (10% owned) – He has been firing on all cylinders lately and should continue to do so until PG13 returns. It’s likely that George will return next week, but with the beating he has taken, he could easily find himself out again for another couple of games. GRIII is worth an add in deep leagues and is someone to pay attention to if PG13 is out for a while.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

    Power Forward

JaMychal Green (34% owned) – It’s official, Green is here to stay. His category flexibility over the past two weeks has shown how useful he really is. The efficiency numbers are off the charts, the rebound totals are ridiculous, the defensive numbers are incredible. Every now and then he gets you a three which is just an added bonus. Go pick him up in 10-teamers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 10-team leagues.

Patrick Patterson (22% owned) – He is more of a specialized player who contributes from long range, gets efficiency numbers and a respectable amount of boards. There’s nothing special to see here but you know what you’re going to get. Add him in 12-teamers if you need a big who can light it up from downtown.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Trey Lyles (35% owned) – His minutes don’t seem to be tied to Derrick Favors so what you’re seeing now will likely be his role upon Favors’ return. For now though, there is no word on when Favors will return to the Jazz. Lyles is a player who is similar to Patterson in that he is a big who has a lot of stock in the three pointer. He doesn’t grab as many boards, but he has a similar skill set and provides a little more from a defensive perspective. He is more of a deep league add.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

Larry Nance Jr. (29% owned) – Nance is a guy who would be a top-75 player if he could average 28+ MPG. Unfortunately it would take an injury to Julius Randle to see that much time. For now, he hovers around 25 MPG and sits at about top-110 value. He’s a big that can help in boards, steals and efficiency numbers. He’s only a deep league add at this point.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

James Johnson (24% owned) – With all of the injuries out there for the Heat, he still isn’t seeing 25+ MPG, which is a bit of a concern. However, he still provides a consistent amount of steals, blocks and boards which makes him more of a specialist, but he’s worth an add in deeper leagues.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.

    Centers

John Henson (37% owned) – The Bucks have won the last four games with Henson starting at center and he has been ultra-valuable for fantasy owners. Over the past week, Henson has been a top-30 player averaging 14.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks on 55% shooting from the field. If Kidd sticks with him, he could be the next Gobert. The potential is worth the add in all leagues.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 10-team leagues.

Cody Zeller (35% owned) – He didn’t have the greatest week and hovered around top-120 value in leagues, but better days will come for Zeller. He’s been a part of nearly all of the top lineups for the Hornets this season and is dynamite on the pick and roll. When Marvin Williams comes back, his value will rise again.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Tyson Chandler (49% owned) – Tyson Chandler is back doing his old tricks. After a slow start to the year in the block department, he averaged over a block per game this past week along with 11 boards, 1.3 steals and 75% shooting from the field. He’s efficient as they come and should be owned in 12-teamers.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Jon Leuer (42% owned) – As a fantasy owner, I would love to see Leuer start over Marcus Morris. We saw what could-be this week as Leuer had to step in for Morris (foul trouble) and Andre Drummond (ejected). He gets treys, boards, points, and efficiency numbers. He should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 12-team leagues.

Lucas Nogueira (6% owned) – Bebe is back in the fantasy world again after a few weeks off. We have seen what playing time can do for this young project. The FG% is astronomical and the defensive numbers are eye-popping. He’s only seeing 20 MPG over the past week and in no way is his playing time guaranteed, but he should still be owned based on the potential in deep leagues. For 12-teamers he should be firmly on the watch list.

Recommendation: Should be owned in 14-team leagues.
