This week’s article is going to differ slightly from the norm. Rather than giving two plays at each position, I am focusing on my single favorite play for each roster spot. Although this slate consists of just three games, it is packed with star-power. My goal is to give you a foundation using your choice(s) of the following high-end options!
KYLE LOWRY – TORONTO RAPTORS (DK-$8,100, FD-$8,200)
I know Kyle Lowry played awful in game one, and the fear of a recurring egg is real and scary. However, Lowry is one of the best point guards in the league and barring a blowout, he will be playing over 35 minutes for the Raptors tonight. On the season, Lowry is averaging 22.4 points, 7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds. He gets a great match-up against the Bucks who have struggled to guard the point guard spot of late. If Lowry can come close to his season averages, he will be a stat stuffer and a crucial play.
DEMAR DEROZAN – TORONTO RAPTORS (DK-$8,000, FD-$8,200)
I know it’s scary to think about playing two guards from the same team, but look at game one in the Blazers/Warriors series for comfort. C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard exploded, and playing both would have made for an excellent night. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan present the same kind of upside. DeRozan is averaging 27.3 points this season and much like Lowry he gets a great match-up in Milwaukee. It will be difficult to play both, but I won’t hesitate to let these Raptors run as a pack.
PAUL GEORGE – INDIANA PACERS (DK-$10,500, FD-$10,000)
The Cavaliers are awful defensively, especially against small forwards. Paul George is averaging almost 24 points per game this season, and he should be able to exploit the many Cav deficiencies. George is my favorite big-name play on the slate, and I am going to try and put him in every lineup.
Cleveland and Indiana have the highest over/under and the spread is only -4.0 to the Cavaliers. Get George in your lineups!
KEVIN LOVE – CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (DK-$7,900, FD-$8,200)
Kevin Love probably couldn’t keep Helen Keller from scoring, but he is an incredible offensive player. He is starting to hit his stride and should see a ton of minutes in what looks to be (on paper) the slate’s highest scoring game. Love averages a double-double, and he could easily exceed his average in both points and rebounds tonight.
The Cavaliers and Pacers make good teams to stack, with Love being my favorite Cleveland player on the board.
MARC GASOL – MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (DK-$7,100, FD-$7,100)
The Grizzlies are my favorite team. They are scrappy, and filled with old role players in many spots, but they find a way to get wins. While they got a horrible draw against the Spurs and likely won’t make it past the first round, there is definitely big fantasy lines lurking in the Memphis roster. My favorite Grizzly on this slate is Marc Gasol. He can do it all, and while the match-up is not top-tier, Gasol will see plenty of floor time in an attempt to salvage the series. The talented giant is averaging almost 20 points and 6 boards for the year, and should bring his best against a perennially tough foe.
As always, thanks for reading! If you have any questions or just want to chat, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Good luck tonight!
