During this 2016-17 NBA season, the basketball gods have blessed us with historical production. Team by team, this series brings you the amazing, embarrassing and obscure stats that aren’t mentioned anywhere else. Now on “NBA Regular Season Record Chasing,” checking in on the Dallas Mavericks during their weakest season of the Mark Cuban era.
What have been the big issues in Big D? Injuries, to some extent (141 games missed by their players, per Man Games Lost). Miscasting Harrison Barnes as an alpha dog and playing Dirk Nowitzki at center haven’t helped, either. At least Tunisia’s own Salah Mejri gives them good minutes!
