Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic posted 22 points, four rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes against Slovenia on Sunday. He shot 9-of-21 from the field, 2-of-11 from three and 2-of-2 at the line as Serbia fell in the EuroBasket final.
Bogdanovic wasn’t at his best, forcing it at times and missing shots he’s made with regularity throughout the tournament.
However, he led Serbia to a Finals berth and they just couldn’t pull through against a strong Slovenian team led by Heat guard Goran Dragic (35 points).
With EuroBasket now behind him, Bogdanovic will set his sights on training camp which begins on September 26.
With his heavy workload throughout the tournament, it’s likely that Bogdanovic sparingly takes part in training camp. It’ll depend on how he’s feeling physically come the end of September.
With Bogdanovic’s excellent EuroBasket play he may have earned himself a larger role in the rotation this season.
It’s hard to project his exact minute output, especially with the log-jam Dave Joerger has to deal with, but either way we should see him on the floor come opening night.
