• A report surfaced earlier today that the Kings have “big interest” in Andre Drummond and there has been chatter throughout the day in the Detroit media surrounding it.

Sources tell Hoop Ball’s Aaron Bruski to not summarily dismiss the trade rumors coming out of Detroit surrounding Drummond and the Kings.

The extent of discussions and the terms are not known at this time, nor is any deal remotely imminent, but the two teams have discussed the potential for a deal as we approach tonight’s draft.

In 81 games with Detroit last season, Drummond compiled averages of 13.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks in 29.7 minutes per game on 53.0 percent shooting from the field. He has missed just three games over the last four seasons and has four years left on his five-year, $127 million contract signed back in July 2016; the final year is a player option.

UPDATE: More sources have weighed in.

UPDATE: USA Today’s Sam Amick provides an update on the situation as well as the Kings’ plans with their draft picks. He mentions that a deal is unlikely but stops short of ruling one out.
