Draymond Green was arrested for assault late Sunday, according to Brendan Quinn of MLive.com.
Green, a former Michigan State Spartan and Saginaw native, was arrested in East Lansing. While East Lansing PD is not confirming that Draymond is the one who was arrested, they have confirmed that they “did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault.”
It’s too early to speculate on anything, but if the reports are true it’d be a major disappointment for Green. Recently tabbed to represent the United States in Rio, Green’s legal status could affect his Olympic participation. Depending on the severity of the incident, Green may face additional discipline from the league. This report will do him no favors considering his current reputation as ill-tempered.
Again, we don’t know all the details just yet but it’s not a good look for Green, who has declined to comment on the situation so far. We’ll provide updates as new information comes in.
