This was Butler’s fourth All-Defensive team honor. Each has been on the second-team.
This year’s honor is more impressive given he played in just 59 games. He set a career-high in steals with 2.0 per game, which tied him for second in the league behind Victor Oladipo. According to ESPN’s Defensive Real Plus-Minus, Butler ranked 22nd in the league among all players, and fourth among guards behind just Andre Roberson, Dejounte Murray and Oladipo.
