The Kings will bring in projected first-round draft pick Harry Giles for a pre-draft workout on Tuesday.
Giles is currently projected to go No. 20 to the Portland Trail Blazers (via DraftExpress) which is out of range for all of the Kings’ three picks.
In 26 games with Duke last season, Giles had averages of 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. He shot 57.7 percent from the field.
Giles has quite a storied injury history. He tore his ACL in his right knee in 2015, and he tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee in 2013. He also had to have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee prior to the 2016 season which put him behind from the get go.
He was originally projected to be a top-five draft pick but his injuries have caused him to slide down draft boards. With all that said, Giles is still projected to go in the first-round purely based on his potential. Giles would be a project pick that will take some time to find his footing in the league.
He only makes sense for the Kings if they trade down, or trade up from No. 34 but it’s still interesting to note that Sacramento is bringing him in for an individual workout.
Kings will host a pre-draft workout with Duke forward Harry Giles tomorrow.
