August 10, 2018, 10:47 pm
The NBA has officially announced the full 82 game schedule for the 2018-19 season on Friday afternoon. Sacramento will open the season at home on October 17 against the Utah Jazz, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm PST. The Kings will then go on a tough stretch, playing seven of their next nine games on the road. With so many young players on the roster, the early games will prove to be quite a test. The last game of the season will be on April 10 on the road against the Portland Trailblazers.
The NBA has been working hard over the last few seasons to cut down on back-to-back contests, and this season is no exception. Teams will average 13.3 back-to-backs in 2018-19, a historically low total, and no teams will play four games in five nights for the second straight season. The Kings will play a league-high 15 back-to-backs.
The longest road trip of the season will take place in mid-January. The Kings will begin with a game against the Charlotte Hornets on January 17, followed by games against the Pistons, Nets, Raptors, Grizzlies and Clippers. The Kings will follow that trip up with their longest stretch of home games, featuring games against the Hawks, Sixers, Spurs, Rockets, Heat and Suns.
The Kings will have five nationally televised games next season, including four on NBA TV and one on TNT. The four NBA TV games will be against the Wizards, Thunder and Spurs, while the TNT game will be against the Clippers.
