The Kings will be looking to end a two-game skid Wednesday night when they take on the Hawks.
The Hawks have been led this season by the trio of Dennis Schroder, Kent Bazemore and Taurean Prince. All three can be threats from the perimeter, so the Kings will need a good defensive presence on the wing to keep them in check.
Atlanta is one of the few teams in the NBA with a worse record than the Kings at 2-12, so Sacramento should have a good shot to come out with the win.
With that said, Sacramento has struggled to a 1-7 record on the road this season including an 0-2 record on their current east-coast trip. This will be the final game before returning to Sacramento, so the team will want to take advantage and avoid a winless trip if possible.
- Rookie power forward John Collins has emerged as one of the best rebounders in the league, averaging 16.6 rebounds per-100 possessions through his first 14 games. Collins has been particularly aggressive on the offensive glass which has translated into easy opportunities to score in the paint. Collins figures to play around 20-25 minutes tonight, and the Kings will need to stay focused on keeping him out of the paint when he enters the game.
- Dennis Schroder can be a dynamic offensive presence when locked in but he’s also had issues with inefficiency and turnovers. With two good defenders in George Hill and De’Aaron Fox, the Kings should be able to neutralize his speed on offense and also take advantage of some of his mistakes on that end of the floor. Stopping Schroder will be a key for the team in Atlanta.
- George Hill had one of his best performances of the season Monday night in Washington scoring 13 points in the first quarter, but he was unable to maintain this level of play through the rest of the game. Hill is still trying to find his footing through the team’s first 13 games, but the Hawks represent a good opportunity for him to try and be aggressive and build on his success against the Wizards.
