The Kings ended their road trip with back-to-back victories, but they’ll have to have a short memory if they hope to contend with the incoming Spurs.
The Spurs come into town after suffering a tough loss at the hands of the Jazz on Thursday.
It’ll be the first of four games between the two teams. Sacramento will play San Antonio three times in the next month and a week, as a matter of fact.
The Kings will look to George Hill and Frank Mason to lead the team as first-round pick De’Aaron Fox is relinquished to the bench due to a partial tear on his quad.
Sacramento will hope that Zach Randolph will continue his tremendous play of late as he goes up against a few players much lighter than him on the Spurs. While Z-Bo has dominated lately, it’ll be interesting to see how the Spurs use forwards LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol.
Gasol rested during the team’s last game, which was an 11-point loss at the hands of Utah.
The Kings, whose offense hasn’t been the highlight of the season will hope to slow down an already timid offense of the Spurs.
San Antonio has the second-lowest pace in the league, but they boast the third best defensive rating in the NBA at 103.7, according to Basketball Reference.
The Kings head home where they are 5-7 on the year.
Sacramento will have to deal with a handful of former All-Stars as the Spurs, led by Aldridge, who is averaging over 21 points per game, come to town. However, they won’t have to deal with two-time Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard.
