After splitting a pair of games with the Spurs earlier in the week, the Kings (1-1) now turn their attention on their second opponent of the preseason, the rival Lakers (0-3).
The battle of rookie guards De’Aaron Fox and Lonzo Ball will have to be put on hold once again as Ball is being held out of the game with an ankle injury. The two didn’t face each other in Summer League due to an injury to Ball and last met in the NCAA tournament.
For the rest of the Kings, they’ll look to control Kyle Kuzma who’s averaging 21 points per game for Los Angeles. For the Kings, Fox leads the team in points this preseason with 16.5 ppg.
After a strong 14-point, nine-rebound showing from center Willie Cauley-Stein on Friday, he’ll look to maintain some consistency in tonight’s contest.
It’ll be interesting to see if coach Dave Joerger runs with an all veteran lineup again or if he decides to blend the youth with experience on the national stage.
If he does the latter, we’ll be watching to see if the kids have developed any chemistry in the halfcourt yet.
