The Vertical reported on Wednesday that the Grizzlies have offered their head coaching job to Miami assistant coach David Fizdale.
The sides are working on a contract and though Memphis has had some bumpy stuff happen on the coaching front in the past, this sounds like a done deal and Grizzlies fans can now try and unpack what he’ll bring to the table.
Being a part of the Pat Riley/Erik Spoelstra group is undoubtedly a plus, and he is otherwise known for his ability to communicate with players and he also gets good marks for strategic input for the Heat.
While folks moan and groan about coaches being unfairly fired this season, the NBA continues to see the coaching ranks swell with coaches on the rise. All of those improvements are good for the league.
