• The Kings and Knicks have reportedly discussed a trade centered on Kristaps Porzingis according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

The report didn’t mention the Kings specifically but Shelburne mentioned that the Knicks have talked to all the teams holding a top-5 pick in this years NBA Draft; with Sacramento holding the 5th pick, they fall into the discussion.

“Sources told ESPN on Tuesday that the Knicks had talks with each team positioned in the top five in the lottery trying to acquire both its pick and a young player with star potential for Porzingis.” – ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne

Knicks team president Phil Jackson confirmed on Wednesday night that he has received calls from teams interested in trading for Porzingis and he is open to discussing deals. Any deal the Kings offer would almost certainly include their top-5 pick and a top player on Sacramento’s roster but it’s a high price that may be worth paying for the talent on offer.

It’s unlikely something eventuates tonight but keep an eye out come draft day as any potential trade talks may begin to heat up.
