After missing out of Zach LaVine, the Kings seem to be moving on and looking at other options. Smart would be a solid one and would instantly become the best defender on the team, however, being a guard could complicate things in the backcourt.
In 54 games with the Celtics last season, Smart posted averages of 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.9 minutes per game. He shot 36.7 percent from the field and 30.1 percent from three.
Update: Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee said there’s nothing to report on the Marcus Smart front. Jones said the reported interest in Smart is “not true.”
