This means Richardson will stick around in Sacramento for at least another season. Following that, he will become a restricted free agent if the Kings choose to extend a qualifying offer to him; but that’s further down the road.
Richardson has only played in three games so far this season averaging 6.0 points per game. He’s coming off his best outing of the young season dropping 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes against the Wizards on Sunday.
Richardson doesn’t have a set spot in the rotation, but he’s an injury or trade away from getting consistent minutes.
