The Rockets join the Cavs and multiple other teams, per Jones, that have expressed interest in acquiring the 31-year-old Hill.
Jones mentioned Ryan Anderson as a possible option for Sacramento if a deal with Houston were to occur. Anderson is a native of Sacramento, but with two years and over $40 million left on his deal, the Kings aren’t likely to take him on without an incentive or two coming their way.
“They’re inclined to pass on any deals that don’t include acquiring young players or draft assets. Sacramento wants to maintain financial flexibility over the next couple of years to either add an impact player or re-sign players who are still on their rookie contracts.” – Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.
The Kings have also received inquires about the other veterans on the roster, Vince Carter, Garrett Temple and Kosta Koufos. Those three are on more affordable contracts compared to that of Hill, so they could be more attractive on the market for a team in playoff contention.
The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday at 12pm PST.
