• The Sacramento Kings snapped their three game losing streak Wednesday night after beating the Mavericks 120-89.  The win leaves the team with a 2-3 record on the road trip.

The game was still quite close following the first half, with Sacramento holding onto a slim four point lead, but the second half was a completely different story.  The Kings outscored the Mavericks 29-12 in the third quarter and then continued to dominate through the fourth.  The team was getting production from all over, and Dallas couldn’t seem to get it going on either end.

Here are some notes from the matchup:

    • After not playing in the teams previous three games, Ben McLemore was surprisingly promoted to the starting lineup.  McLemore had a rough shooting night, but his athleticism provided some energy for the starting lineup, and he continued to be aggressive on offense.  It still isn’t clear if he will be a permanent member of the rotation moving forward, but this is a good sign for the young shooting guard.
    • After being removed from the starting lineup, Arron Afflalo failed to make it into the game tonight.  Afflalo has certainly had his struggles this season, but this move was still surprising.  Anthony Tolliver, who regularly gets DNP’s, also found his way on to the court tonight.  It will be interesting to see what motivated coach Joerger to keep Afflalo out.

Sacramento has struggled to get much going offensively during the road trip, so it is fairly relieving to see the team get such a dominant win. The team has had quite a bit of success defensively, but this is the first game in a while that saw the team get it done on both sides of the floor.  Following the victory, Sacramento will head home for a rematch against the New York Knicks.
