Following their Tuesday night win over the Denver Nuggets, the Sacramento Kings head home for the second game of a back-to-back set against the Miami Heat. This will be the second of two meetings against the two teams, with Miami winning narrowly earlier in the season.
For the Kings, injuries are still a concern, but not nearly as much as they have been for Miami. The Heat have been dealing with injuries all season long, and have had no consistency to this point in the season.
Miami may not have the best record, but they are still a team capable of putting together some good games on the right night. They have plenty of talent to win games, but with plenty of youth and players sitting out, they do have their vulnerabilities.
Here are some notes heading into the matchup:
- Despite recent injuries , Sacramento should have enough talent to come out on top. Darren Collison and DeMarcus Cousins have enough offensive talent to get the offense going, but Dave Joerger will need to keep at least on of them on the court at all times.
- Hassan Whiteside has been out recently for the Heat, and it looks like he may be out for this game as well. Cousins doesn’t tend to struggle with Hassan Whiteside, but the loss of rim protection is still a boost for Sacramento, and the offensive game that Whiteside has developed also makes him fairly potent. His loss should help the Kings, but if he does end up playing, the game would still be fairly winnable.
Sacramento is slowly creeping toward .500, and with a game against one of the worst teams in the league they should be able to continue towards that mark. The talent is still there for Miami, so the Kings will need to maintain their focus to pull out the win.
