• The Kings will reportedly sign forward Nigel Hayes to a multi-year contract according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. NBC Sports California’s James Ham also confirmed the signing.

The deal, per Wojnarowski, will run through the 2018-19 season, however, Hayes’ contract will be non-guaranteed.

Hayes, an undrafted rookie out of Wisconsin, has spent time with the Knicks, Raptors and Lakers this season. Hayes played two games for the Raptors and two games for the Lakers, averaging 2.3 points in 4.3 minutes per game.

The 23-year-old has spent most of his rookie season down in the G-League, compiling averages of 15.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 34.0 minutes per game (43 games). The averages came across stints with the Raptors 905 and Westchester Knicks.

The Kings have just six games remaining this season so the opportunities may be limited for Hayes in Sacramento. However with the team’s G-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns, set to participate in the playoffs, Hayes may have been added as depth for their run at the championship.
