For the 2020-21 season, the Nets will wear City jerseys inspired by New York artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Kevin Durant recently mentioned Basquiat as one of his biggest inspirations so the idea for these jerseys may have come from him. The design is clearly an homage to the artist's distinct style. The City jerseys have provided a wide-open platform for teams to create more unique threads and the Nets are taking full advantage of that opportunity this season.

In speaking with The Athletic on Wednesday, NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts said the league's proposed December 22nd season start date "defies common sense".

Roberts made it clear the Players Association is actively working on a response to the league's proposal but the issue would not be resolved this week. Aside from the schedule, next season's salary cap is also being negotiated, though Roberts said the two sides are closer on that issue. Shams Charania writes that multiple sources confirm the salary cap is expected to be $109 million with the tax line set at $132 million.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau, GM Scott Perry and senior VP William Wesley had dinner with Kira Lewis Jr. in Miami on Monday.

The Knicks have had a desperate need for a quality point guard for some time now and the 6-foot-3 Alabama point guard has drawn some interest from the team. They currently hold the 8th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Lewis was one of the players chosen by the team for their 10 league-allowed in-person workouts. He may be undersized especially in a time where the trend is to go for big guards for teams' ability to play positionless basketball, Lewis is a known speedster and has been rising in the draft boards over the last few months. And while the interest is genuine, "anything can happen on draft day," as they say.

Per Marc Stein, former NBA All-Star Danny Manning has emerged as a candidate for Nate Bjorkgren's staff in Indiana.

Manning played 15 seasons in the NBA and was a two-time All-Star and Sixth Man of the Year during the 1997-98 season. After retiring in 2003, he went into the coaching ranks in the NCAA where he worked as an assistant for Kansas before becoming the head coach for both Tulsa and Wake Forest. This would be his first opportunity in the NBA coaching ranks.

The Rockets and former Mavs assistant Stephen Silas are finalizing an agreement for Silas to become the team's next head coach, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Rockets have concluded their search for a head coach with this hire. Silas has been in the NBA since 1999 and has been with the Hornets, Cavs, Wizards, Warriors, and Mavs. He previously served as the interim head coach for the Charlotte Hornets during the 2017-18 season when Steve Clifford was ill. The team will be entering next season with a new GM and head coach and it will be interesting to see where the new regime takes this high-octane offense.
