Mark Cuban said that the Mavs will not be opening their practice facility on Friday.

Cuban said "because we can't test people then we can't assure anybody's safety. Even with taking all kinds of precautions it's just not worth it." Cuban said that players have been staying in shape and shooting on outdoor hoops. With the NBA's one-player-per-basket restriction on opening practice facilities, it seems like this would just move the Mavs' players' shooting workouts from their home to the gym, which doesn't have enough benefits to be worth the risk in Cuban's opinion. He did express optimism in the Orlando and Las Vegas bubble plans to resume play this season.

Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson (torn labrum) said he is still "ruled out of the remainder of the season".

Brunson had surgery on March 13th and had a time table of four-to-six months after the surgery. Despite being ruled out for the remainder of the season he said, "we have no idea when the season actually is going to pick back up, so we shall see." Brunson echoes the uncertainty that still surrounds the 2019-20 NBA season. Even when basketball activities resume, he will likely have to go through incremental steps like playing 3-on-3 and moving up to 5-on-5. That may be challenging under the quarantine restrictions.

Maxi Kleber

Mavs' forward Maxi Kleber, a native of Germany, remains in Dallas despite the on-going quarantine and coronavirus pandemic.

Kleber says the situation in Germany is not much different than in the United States and that he is "committed" to staying in Dallas during the shutdown. "I might just stay here, focus on working out, doing lifting, staying in shape," Kleber said, although he admitted that motivation to do so is more difficult and he does not currently have access to a basketball hoop. Many NBA players are in similar situations, biding their time until Adam Silver is able to make some decisions regarding the continuation or cancelation of the rest of the 2019-2020 season.

Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson, who is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum, recently said in an interview that a return to action if the 2019-20 season is extended has been ruled out.

Brunson goes on to say that his timeline is more aligned with making a return for next season's camp, He has been rehabbing at home but has kept in close contact with family and teammates via video calls and chats. Brunson is expected to be ready for a full load come 2020-21.

Mark Cuban holds an optimistic view regarding the return of NBA games, saying on Monday that "Hopefully by the middle of May, we're starting to get back to normal and the NBA is playing games."

Cuban's optimism is sure to get hopes up among NBA fans, but there's obviously immense uncertainty and plenty of hurdles to clear before the NBA season can continue. If you want something to grab onto to keep spirits up, though, Cuban also mentioned that he "would say that the over/under would be June 1" and that he's taking the under.

Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson underwent surgery on his torn labrum on Friday and has no timetable for a return.

The original plan was for Brunson to rehab the injury so he could return later on this season, but with the league stoppage for a minimum of 30 days underway it made sense to proceed with the surgery at this time. It is still not clear how long it will take Brunson to return to the floor as he recovers from the procedure.

Delon Wright

PG, Dallas Mavericks

Delon Wright scored 10 points with nine rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block in 28 minutes on Wednesday.

Wright has shown the ability to post well-rounded lines with big steal numbers when he is given the minutes. The minutes were there tonight, so the production followed.

Luka Doncic scored 28 points on 10-of-22 shooting with six rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 40 minutes on Wednesday.

Doncic shot 6-of-11 from the free throw line but was still able to lead the Mavs to a win vs. the Nuggets. Doncic is a superstar in the NBA at the young age of 21 and he is a joy to watch every time he takes the floor.
