Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Raptors and Pascal Siakam have agreed to a new, four-year maximum contract extension.
The deal is for four years, $130 million and does not include any player or team options. With this move the Raptors lock up their franchise cornerstone for the foreseeable future. Siakam, last season's Most Improved Player, was on the books for a paltry $2.3 million this season, but will now presumably be paid a per-year average closer to the top of his position. While early summer valuations of Siakam as a top 20 player are unrealistic, Spicy P remains a solid fantasy bet in the 3rd round, with some room to grow in the scoring categories. Those likely improvements offset concerns about decreased efficiency from the field and a lack of defensive stats in his new alpha role.
