Alex Len scored 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting (8-of-10 FTs) with 12 rebounds and one assist with no defensive stats in Tuesday’s massive blowout loss to the Hornets.
Len isn’t going to be a fantasy stud anytime soon if he can’t get the defensive numbers up and that has been a problem for him this season. He’s still a must-own player and probably a must-start player, but his top 115-160 value over the last five games underscores his issues. Over that span he has averaged 18.0 points and 11.0 boards, but just 1.0 combined steals and blocks to go with tepid and voluminous percentages from the field (46.3%) and the line (70%). One has to think he can get the peripherals somewhat under control and threaten to be a solid mid-round value down the stretch, but any talk of being a stud or elite is just an overreaction to pointz and rebounds.
