Darren Collison scored a season-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, seven assists and one steal in Tuesday’s road win over the Nuggets.
We’ve been on you guys to buy low on Collison and tonight’s game wasn’t emblematic of the main problems — which is navigating the two-big lineup of Kosta Koufos and DeMarcus Cousins (31 points, six rebounds, six assists, one block, three treys, 8-of-8 FTs). But Collison was able to take advantage of the pick-and-roll and the Nuggets’ size actually mitigated the Kings’ issues with that lineup, so DC was able to get some wind in his sails. Koufos also scored a season-high with 18 points to go with his five boards and one steal, highlighting the kind of night the Nugs had on defense and that had Michael Malone very unhappy after the game.
