Good grief. It remains to be seen what the Knicks are trying to accomplish here, as a rebuilding team boasts one of the league’s older rosters and is holding back one of their most talented young players. If this results in a trade of one of the veteran forwards then perhaps it won’t all be for naught, but whether or not the return outweighs stagnating Hernangomez’s development for a TBD time frame is very much up for debate. Hernangomez owners should be rightfully concerned, but it’s too early to advocate for a drop just yet unless you’re in an extremely shallow league. The upside is too great to cut just two weeks into the season.
