John Collins hit multiple 3-pointers for the first time in his career during the Hawks’ Friday night loss to the Hornets, totaling 10 points, nine rebounds, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers.
Collins has been such a reliable rebounder in his rookie season along with showing real shot-blocking skills and the ability to finish efficiently around the rim. But a deep ball? No, hasn’t really been Collins’ style to this point. Entering tonight’s game with the Hornets, Collins had hit two career 3-pointers. Tonight, he decided to go ahead and double that number, hitting a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. This is a fun development and an interesting wrinkle in Collins’ fantasy value and you should expect more of this 3-point experimentation. Through his first 31 games, Collins shot 0-for-2 from long range. In his last 11 games, he’s 4-for-11.
