Lonzo Ball (knee) returned to action in Friday’s win over the Mavs, scoring nine points on 3-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with seven rebounds and six assists in 17 minutes.
It was a great per-minute effort as Ball was aggressive against a passive Mavs defense and everything looked great. Isaiah Thomas still isn’t 100 percent but he looked mostly fine out there, scoring 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting (2-of-7 3PTs, 5-of-5 FTs) with two rebounds, four assists and two steals in 25 minutes. There’s still so much shade out there with Thomas that the buy low window is still open, and once he gets his shot on track the big lines are going to start firing off. Josh Hart put up 12 points, 10 boards, two assists, one steal and one three, but he’ll be the guy that gets squeezed once Ball is getting full run. Ball won’t play on Saturday against the Kings because according to legend he constantly ducks De’Aaron Fox.
