De'Aaron Fox averaged a career-best 20.4 points per game in 2019-20 but could only muster top-60/90 value (8/9-cat) in fantasy due to small steps back in other key categories.
Fox is a dynamic player and the engine that drives the Kings, but he was unable to take the step towards the early rounds for fantasy GMs. His turnovers increased from 2.8 to 3.1 per contest, while his assists fell from 7.3 to 6.8, his steals fell from 1.6 to 1.4 and his threes fell from 1.1 to 1.0 (with his 3P% plummeting from .371 to .307). Despite a career-high .475 mark from the field overall, Fox was largely stuck in neutral from a fantasy perspective. A month-long absence for a sprained left ankle took the wind from his sails and certainly had an effect on his numbers, as did the fact that the Kings really dialed down their tempo under Luke Walton. One of those things should be back in Fox's favor going forward, but the jury is out on the other. Either way he's got a middle-round floor.
