• Donovan Mitchell
    SG, Utah Jazz

Donovan Mitchell failed to live up to expectations in 2019-20, ending the season as a top-50 value player, despite being drafted in the top-30 range in Yahoo and ESPN.

While a top-50 finish is nothing to scoff at, drafters were hoping to get much more out of the Jazz’s blossoming young superstar. While he missed the draft-day valuation mark, Mitchell still managed to put up impressive numbers with averages of 24.2 points, 2.5 threes, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game on .453 shooting from the field. He did need to adjust to a new partner in the backcourt in Mike Conley, but the biggest obstacles at the moment for Mitchell to living up to elite combo-guard status is his underwhelming assist and steals numbers. That said, he’s maturing quite nicely and can grow into the star we know he’s capable of becoming.
