• Aaron Gordon - F - Orlando Magic

Aaron Gordon said that while his back injury is improving he still isn't close to 100 percent and that he doesn't want to return prematurely and suffer a setback.

That certainly makes it seem like Gordon will be sitting for tonight's game. When you consider that the Magic don't play again until Tuesday, that makes it a near-lock. The Magic would probably love to get Gordon three full days of rest and when the player is preaching some patience, it's close to a sure thing that they'll miss a little time. Check back for an official word on tonight's status and hope for some positive developments over the weekend.

Fantasy News

  • Deandre Ayton - C - Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton (illness) will start in Monday's game, according to coach Igor Kokoskov.

Ayton missed Sunday's practice but seems to be fine. He was benched last Thursday but started Friday and appeared to get the message. He's a good bet for a double-double with an occasional block, and he's not a zero in the assist column either. His upside is limited due to the #FreeRichaunHolmes movement that has been growing all season long.

  • Guerschon Yabusele - F - Boston Celtics

Guerschon Yabusele (right ankle sprain) is out for Monday's game.

Yabusele suffered the injury in Saturday's game, and was ruled out for this contest on Sunday. He would have been in a good spot with the Celtics being so short-handed. Semi Ojeleye has a chance for 20-plus minutes in this one given all the injuries for Boston.

  • Aron Baynes - F/C - Boston Celtics

Aron Baynes (left ankle sprain) has been ruled out for Monday's game.

This will be the second game Baynes has missed after leaving Thursday's game without returning. The Celtics are very short-handed and Daniel Theis will presumably draw another start. This is turning into a juicy matchup for Anthony Davis and Julius Randle as the Celtics will have to play a lot of small ball.

  • Gordon Hayward - F - Boston Celtics

Gordon Hayward (illness) is doubtful for Monday's contest with the Pelicans.

It's good to see that Hayward is not listed with an ankle problem. It seems like the Celtics are giving a lot of veterans some rest in this game. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris should be able to have high minutes and usage in this one – along with Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart at guard.

  • Al Horford - F/C - Boston Celtics

Al Horford (left knee soreness) is doubtful for Monday's game.

Horford has been dealing with this knee soreness for a few weeks now, and a few games off should help him. Daniel Theis should start again with Aron Baynes (ankle) doubtful.

  • Rodney Hood - G - Cleveland Cavaliers

Rodney Hood (toe) is questionable to play on Monday.

Hood was on the court earlier this morning, which is a positive sign even if it doesn't make him a lock to play tonight. If he's out, Alec Burks would play big minutes again, and it's possible that Burks has overtaken Hood either way given his strong play since joining the Cavs. Hood's been very hit-or-miss this season despite a great opportunity and should only be owned in deep leagues.

  • Kyrie Irving - G - Boston Celtics

Kyrie Irving (right shoulder soreness) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Pelicans.

This is a new injury for Irving and his owners knew that he would miss some games. The Celtics will be very shorthanded tonight leaving a lot of opportunities for Jayson Tatum, Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart. The Celtics have been playing better as of late and will be cautious with Irving's health.

  • John Wall - G - Washington Wizards

John Wall (heel) has been ruled out of Monday's game versus the Pacers.

Wall was questionable entering Saturday's game with an illness and wound up playing. He was clearly in pain and following the game Wall mentioned a bone spur in his heel that was bothering him. Tomas Satoransky and Austin Rivers will fill in at point guard and are worth a speculative add, while Bradley Beal and Otto Porter divide up the rest of Wall's massive usage. There is no word to just how long Wall will be out, but this sounds like it could linger without rest.

  • Jordan Clarkson - G - Cleveland Cavaliers

Jordan Clarkson (back) is being considered questionable for Monday's game versus the Bucks.

Clarkson seems to be dealing with a sore back and if forced to sit out we would likely see a boost in minutes for Alec Burks and the newly acquired Matthew Dellavedova.

  • Matthew Dellavedova - G - Cleveland Cavaliers

Matthew Dellavedova will be available to play against the Bucks on Monday night.

Dellavedova is set to see his first minutes back in a Cavs' uniform against the very team that just traded him. Jordan Clarkson is currently being listed as questionable and if he were forced to sit out we would likely see Alec Burks and Dellavedova benefit the most, but Burks remains the more enticing option.
