In an interview with Yahoo Sports’ Michael Lee, Andre Drummond revealed that he’s been focusing on his conditioning this offseason and has already lost 20 pounds.
This type of thing is usually fluff, but Drummond’s fatigue issues put a serious cap on his playing time last season. Between the weight loss and the surgery to fix a deviated septum this offseason, he should be able to stay on the court longer this year. Drummond revealed that his left nostril had been closed since his college days, so that surgery will probably play a bigger role than expected. He’s going to be a top-15 play for punters regardless but extra playing time could help rehab his mid-round value for the rest of the fantasy community. The full interview is worth a read, especially for the parts about Drummond’s community work in Africa.
