Andre Drummond was a force in the paint in Detroit’s 125-124 (2OT) win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. Drummond tallied 28 points, hauled in 14 boards, got four steals two blocks.
Drummond has been trending upward recently, scoring 20 points or more in three of his last five games. He has also stepped up his defense bumping up his block averages in January to 1.7 BPG, compared to his 1.1 for the rest of the season. Andre’s biggest issue, aside from his free throw shooting, has been his penchant for getting into foul trouble. Once he reigns in those unnecessary fouls, Drummond will get to stay on the floor longer and his production should follow suit.
