Andre Roberson has been bombarded with advice on his free throws but won’t be the next player to shoot his free throws underhanded, he details in a story from Brett Dawson at The Oklahoman.
Roberson has tried the underhanded tactic in practice, saying “That s— does not work. I’m sorry.” He shot a woeful .423 from the stripe last season and teams resorted to intentionally fouling him down the stretch, with the Rockets bench famously cracking up at some of his uglier attempts. The Thunder need him on the floor for his defense and fantasy owners appreciate the stream of cash counters that Roberson provides, so improving his free throw stroke would go a long way towards making him all the more impactful. He’s received advice from shooting coaches, former players and dedicated fans, but remains on the hunt for what works for him.
