Andrew Bogut came off the bench in the first quarter against the Celtics, Julius Randle didn’t enter until the second quarter
With Larry Nance (hand) out for at least a month we figured Randle would see a significant increase in minutes. In his first game without Nance, Randle played only 17 minutes, just under his season average. In Wednesday’s contest, he didn’t get in the game until the second quarter, and he contributed 10 points and seven boards in that quarter. It’s a bit of a headscratcher that Randle has played so little as he’s played arguably played his best basketball this season, averaging 11.0 points per game in only 18.6 minutes on 58.6 percent shooting entering Wednesday. Kyle Kuzma’s impressive play may make Randle expendable, perhaps in a deal to offload Luol Deng’s ridiculous contract.
