Andrew Wiggins went 9-of-16 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line against the Warriors, finishing Sunday’s home win with 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and two triples.
Despite the one-game respite, Wiggins’ work in the percentages has significantly depressed his value for yet another season. He’s at 44 percent from the floor on nearly 16 attempts per game and a putrid .635 from the charity stripe. He has increased his steals, blocks and threes from last season but has seen a big drop in scoring (5.7 ppg) to go along with his horrific decline in free throw percentage. The marginal increases in the cash counters haven’t been nearly enough to prop up his value. Wiggins remains a points specialist with a stat set that may never allow him to catch up to the hype. Despite solid points, steals and a surprising lack of turnovers, he remains just 175th in 9-cat leagues.
