Anthony Davis scored 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in Tuesday’s loss to the Bulls.
Davis went 6-for-15 from the field and 1-for-5 from deep on his way to 24 points in 33 minutes. The inefficient scoring is not something that we tend to expect from him as his career shooting percentage tends to hover above the 50 percent mark. He did go 11-for-14 from the line so it is encouraging to see him converting around his career average on such volume from the charity stripe. A double-double is nothing to scoff at, but his five attempts from deep do raise some concerns that Davis may be attempting to fill the gap in floor spacing given the Pelicans’ limited threats from deep. He should still be regarded as an elite fantasy talent, but the volatility in New Orleans combined with his injury history may warrant fading him a few spots in the first round.
