January 2, 2019, 10:50 pmAnthony TolliverF, Minnesota Timberwolves
Anthony Tolliver played four more minutes than Dario Saric on Wednesday (26 to 22) and put up nine points on three 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
He is only a 3-point specialist in deep leagues, so you can leave him on the wire unless you are desperate in that category. Saric still offers more fantasy appeal than Tolliver even though his value is outside the top-150 and is steadily declining. Neither guy is worth an add.
December 14, 2019, 11:55 pmKristaps PorzingisPF-C, Dallas Mavericks
Kristaps Porzingis finished Saturday's loss with 22 points, 14 rebounds, a steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes of action.
Porzingis went just 7-of-21 from the field, but we're about to see what he looks like as the go-to guy in Dallas with Luka Doncic expected to miss some time. KP has been a top-75 option this season as the team's second fiddle but could be in for some old fashioned lines in the coming days.
December 14, 2019, 11:54 pmDonte DiVincenzoSG, Milwaukee Bucks
Donte DiVincenzo filled up the box score on Saturday with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 25 minutes.
DiVincenzo started for Eric Bledsoe (shin) and contributed across the board. Bledsoe is expected to miss two weeks and DiVincenzo is the biggest beneficiary. He is an add in standard-leagues until Bledsoe returns.
December 14, 2019, 11:53 pmMaxi KleberPF, Dallas Mavericks
Maxi Kleber was able to score 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting in Saturday's home loss.
Kleber added two threes and a block in 30 minutes, and he did outplay Dwight Powell (27 minutes). The versatile big man is posting top-190/165 value on the year and might see more run as Luka Doncic's upcoming absence will have a ripple effect on the frontcourt rotation. Kleber's worth a shot if you need boards, blocks and threes.
December 14, 2019, 11:51 pmDorian Finney-SmithSF, Dallas Mavericks
Dorian Finney-Smith played 37 minutes in Saturday's OT loss but could only churn out three points (1-for-3 FG), six rebounds, three assists and a steal before fouling out.
Finney-Smith wears multiple hats for the Mavs and should get some extended run (albeit not to this extent) with Luka Doncic looking at time on the sidelines. He's on the map as a potential top-200 guy, though DFS is still more 20-team option than 16-team pickup.
December 14, 2019, 11:49 pmRobin LopezC, Milwaukee Bucks
Robin Lopez scored 16 points with six rebounds and one block in 21 minutes on Saturday.
Lopez played eight minutes on Friday and scored three points with two rebounds. He can be left on the wire, even in deep leagues.
December 14, 2019, 11:49 pmJalen BrunsonPG, Dallas Mavericks
With Luka Doncic leaving Saturday's game after just two minutes, Jalen Brunson stepped up to produce 18 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
It certainly looks like Brunson has the inside track on absorbing most of Doncic's workload as a primary facilitator. Delon Wright played nine minutes in his first game back from a groin injury while J.J. Barea (12 points, five assists, two threes in 13 minutes) and Seth Curry (six points in 19 minutes) were mostly afterthoughts. Wright has the highest upside, Brunson is the safest short-term option, Curry's the guy for threes and Barea is a decent assists specialist. Fantasy GMs can pick and choose from the backcourt here, as all figure to be involved for as long as Doncic is out.
December 14, 2019, 11:47 pmKevin LovePF, Cleveland Cavaliers
Kevin Love double-doubled on Saturday with 12 points and 10 rebounds, adding four assists and two threes in 26 minutes.
Love is putting up top-70 value per game in 9-cat this season, but his ROS outlook is uncertain. It is hard to imagine Love being traded to a better situation for fantasy and he is always an injury risk. He is a mid-round player when healthy but it is worth trying to shop him for a more reliable player.
December 14, 2019, 11:45 pmDelon WrightPG, Dallas Mavericks
Delon Wright (right adductor strain) was limited to nine minutes on Saturday night.
Wright used them to produce two rebounds, two assists and a steal. He could be looking at more run with Luka Doncic set to miss some time, and perhaps that will get him trending toward his middle-round upside. Wright remains someone to keep a very close eye on if he's hit the wire in your 12-team leagues.
December 14, 2019, 11:43 pmDwight PowellPF, Dallas Mavericks
Dwight Powell had eight points, four rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer in 27 minutes on Saturday.
Powell looked to be building some positive momentum after two notable performances in his last four, but this game doesn't do much to inspire optimism even if it isn't a complete dud. Even amidst a disappointing start to the year, Powell has top-190 value because of his elite FG% and is a top-120 player in the last couple of weeks. It's not an exciting profile but there's value to be had.
December 14, 2019, 11:41 pmLarry Nance Jr.PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
Larry Nance Jr. grabbed seven rebounds on Saturday to go with seven points, three assists, one steal and one block in 16 minutes off the bench.
Nance Jr. is hovering around the top-100 in 9-cat in just 25.3 minutes per game. He could see more minutes as the season goes on if Kevin Love gets traded or has his minutes reduced late in the season for the lottery-bound Cavs. Nance Jr. is a hold with late-season upside.
