Ben Simmons was able to notch 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, a steal and two blocks in Saturday's 98-101 loss but will be remembered more for his mistakes than his box score.
Simmons committed four turnovers, including one in overtime that basically ended the game. He also struggled with Boston's defense despite the numbers and visually shirked contact as if he was afraid to end up at the free throw line. He corralled an offensive rebound and threw up an ugly push shot rather than attack the glass or even pull the ball out and reset. Growing pains. It's tough to stomach for a Sixers team that was looking good before this round began but to date their best (also young and inexperienced) players have made a number of costly mistakes. Their season is nearly over because of it.
