Blake Griffin returned from a three-game absence on Friday night and was absolutely dominant, dropping 45 points (11-of-20 shooting, 14-of-16 from the line), seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a career-high nine 3-pointers.
While the Pistons have dipped to eighth in the East thanks to three straight losses, the rest of the teams scrapping for a playoff spot haven't exactly established any cushion on Detroit despite Griffin's recent bout of left knee soreness. The Pistons should be thankful that their superstar managed to get some rest and recovery time without a major collapse in the standings, and tonight he certainly made up for lost time. Nobody else on the Pistons posed a threat in this game and Griffin still managed to deliver a truly monstrous line (he even committed just a single turnover in 35 minutes). A big finish should be in store with those playoff spots coming right down to the wire.
