Head coach Dwane Casey is expecting Blake Griffin to be ready for the Pistons' regular-season opener.
This comes as a relief for anyone that has already drafted Blake Griffin. While he made it through last season largely unscathed (75 games), Griffin was dealing with a serious left knee injury by the end of last season and was clearly limited during the NBA playoffs. If he can stay healthy, he has the ability to deliver early-round value, but wise managers will keep their expectations in check. The injury history is too extensive to ignore.
