The Clippers dropped a 113-102 decision to the Celtics on Wednesday despite a team-high 23 points from Blake Griffin, who also pitched in five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer.
The three has been a curious development for Griffin. He’s more than tripled his previous career-high with 1.9 makes from deep this season, but it’s also hurting his efficiency in a big way. Griffin was 8-of-21 tonight but just 1-of-7 from deep. In the bigger picture, he is now down to .443 on the season — well below last season’s .493 mark which represented a career-low. It’s a give-and-take that fantasy owners might want him to abandon, but Griffin’s fleeting accuracy from range is here to stay. Severely overdrafted, Blake should still be able to finish in the top-75 if he can just stay healthy.
