The Blazers are viewing Ed Davis as a center this season and Zach Collins as a power forward.
The Blazers’ reasoning behind putting Collins at PF is that they believe he must get stronger before he can defend centers. Last year Davis only played 17.2 MPG and the Blazers will likely be starting Al-Farouq Aminu at power forward and Jusuf Nurkic at center. Collins likely won’t see much of the floor this season as the Blazers are looking to develop him behind Nurkic and are in no rush due to their depth at the power forward and center positions.
