Al-Farouq Aminu and Evan Turner lead the Blazers to a 124-120 overtime win against the Bulls to start 2018 with Aminu scoring 24 points (9-of-17) with five triples, adding seven boards and a block while Turner burned Chicago for 22 points (10-of-14) with a triple, six assists and a steal.
Turner is from Chicago and he came out with a fire that has been missing for him since joining the Blazers. This is Turner’s best game this season and second best game in two years with the Blazers which lets you know how much of let down he’s been since leaving Boston where he was approaching top-100 value in 8-cat leagues. On the year Turner is outside of the top-200 but he’s snuck into the top-200 since joining the starting lineup in early December. This is Aminu’s fourth most productive 8-cat game of the year and he’s been a top-110 value on the year for the Blazers but has inexplicably been shooting 44 percent from the line over the last month after shooting over 70 percent his last three seasons. Aminu could continue to climb once he figures out his free throw shooting but owners have to be loving the two triples a game he’s averaging on the year.
