Bobby Portis delivered a team-high 18 points in Wednesday’s 122-98 loss, doing his damage on 8-of-14 from the field in 22 minutes while adding three rebounds, a steal and a block.
Starter Lauri Markkanen finished with 14 points, six rebounds, a 3-pointer and two blocks in 25 minutes but the Bulls let their bench players get some extra run with the game out of reach in the third quarter. Markkanen is obviously the preferred fantasy play but Portis is definitely someone that should be owned in 14-team leagues at this point. He’s sitting just outside the top-100 over the past two weeks, and while his stat set leaves a lot to be desired there’s really no debate about his workload for the rest of the season. Noah Vonleh made his team debut in this one but only saw six minutes of pure garbage time, picking up three points and four boards. He’s a distant third on the power forward depth chart.
