Bradley Beal struggled from the field in Saturday’s loss to the Heat, shooting just 6-of-15 and committing five turnovers in 38 minutes.
Beal’s 16 points, five boards, five assists, two steals and a block really helped save the night. It’s a big loss for the Wizards, who now have to root for the Knicks tomorrow afternoon if they’re to have any shot at overtaking Toronto for the third seed. Once that gets firmed up the Wiz may rest Big Panda given his injury history, though he’s kicked those concerns in a big way this year. It’s clear that his health is paramount to Washington’s success, and he’s been a top-30 guy all year without much deviation during the season. His 75 games this year are already a career-high, and it’ll be interesting to see where he goes in drafts next year. His .480 mark from the floor is 30 percentage points above his previous high mark, so some regression might be on its way. Still, Beal remains a terrific scorer with a mid-round floor so long as he stays healthy.
