Sixers coach Brett Brown says that Joel Embiid’s minutes restriction “is more of a window than a rigid number” and that it’s “based on the flow of the game”.
Embiid sat out against the Raptors due to it being the second night of a back-to-back, something he did all of last season. It’s unclear whether that will continue through this season but so far indications are that it may. Embiid is risky to own due to this fact, and the threat of an injury but when he’s healthy he’s a premier fantasy option. His minutes restriction should loosen up as the season progresses. Embiid is set to suit up against Andre Drummond and the Pistons on Monday night.
