The Chicago Bulls have extended the qualifying offer to David Nwaba making him a restricted free agent.
Chicago is now able to match any offer sheet that Nwaba signs. Nwaba was a surprise cut by the Lakers last summer and the Bulls happily claimed him. Nwaba ended up playing in 70 games and the Bulls have made it clear he is a valued young player. If Chicago does not keep Zach LaVine this summer, Nwaba could be in line for bigger minutes and provides both defensive stats and high rebounding for a shooting guard. He also improved his 3-point shooting from 20% as a rookie to 34.6% last season.
