The Bulls will be holding an open competition to determine who starts at center between Robin Lopez and Wendell Carter Jr.
Lopez has to be the favorite heading into the year despite his troubling declines in both rebounds and blocks a season ago. He remains a quality player that can help the team lock in on defense and is a reliable veteran that can help younger players through ups and downs. That said, Carter offers immense upside and should take the job by the end of the season – either via trade, tank-related benching or on merit alone. If he can somehow win the job from Lopez outright in camp he'll be a popular re-draft target and his dynasty arrow is pointing way, way up.
